ANGELES CITY, Pampanga — An alleged case of animal cruelty along a major road in Angeles City has sparked concern among animal welfare advocates after a dog was reportedly seen tethered to a moving motorcycle on Friday afternoon.
According to witnesses, the dog was attached by a chain to the motorcycle and was forced to keep pace with the vehicle while two adults and a child were riding it. Bystanders reportedly attempted to get the attention of the driver, but the motorcycle continued on its route.
Animal welfare group Animal Kingdom Foundation condemned the incident, describing the method of transporting the animal as unsafe and potentially life-threatening.
The organization warned that forcing a dog to run alongside a moving vehicle could expose the animal to serious injury, exhaustion, or death, especially in heavy traffic conditions.
The group is now seeking assistance from the public to identify the motorcycle rider and the dog’s owner so that appropriate action can be pursued under existing animal welfare laws.
Anyone with information related to the incident is encouraged to contact the organization through its official channels. The group said all information received will be handled confidentially as part of its ongoing efforts to investigate the case.
