CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — PAGASA has upgraded its rainfall alert for several municipalities in Pampanga to an Orange Rainfall Warning as the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to bring persistent heavy rains across Central Luzon.
In Heavy Rainfall Warning No. 22, issued at 11:00 p.m. Friday, the weather bureau warned that flooding is threatening in areas placed under the Orange Warning Level.
The Orange Warning covers Porac, Floridablanca, Lubao, Masantol, Macabebe, Sasmuan, Minalin, Guagua, Bacolor, and Santa Rita.
Meanwhile, a Yellow Rainfall Warning remains in effect for Angeles City, Mabalacat City, the City of San Fernando, Mexico, San Simon, Santo Tomas, Apalit, and San Luis, where flooding is possible, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone communities.
PAGASA also reported that light to moderate rain with occasional heavy downpours continues to affect Arayat, Candaba, Magalang, and Santa Ana, with the weather expected to persist over the next three hours and potentially spread to nearby areas.
The weather bureau attributed the widespread rainfall to the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), which continues to affect much of Luzon.
Residents in areas under the Orange Warning are advised to remain on high alert, as prolonged heavy rainfall may trigger flooding and make road conditions hazardous. Those living near rivers, creeks, and other flood-prone locations are urged to monitor local advisories and prepare to evacuate if instructed by authorities.
PAGASA said the next Heavy Rainfall Warning will be issued at 2:00 a.m. Saturday, unless weather conditions change significantly.
