ICYMI: June 15 declared special non-working day in Pampanga

The Palace has declared Monday, June 15, 2026, a special non-working day in the province of Pampanga to mark the 35th anniversary of the 1991 Mt. Pinatubo eruption.

Under Proclamation No. 1280, the annual observance honors the memory of one of the most powerful volcanic eruptions in Philippine history and recognizes the resilience of communities affected by the disaster.

The 1991 eruption of Mt. Pinatubo displaced thousands of residents, devastated several towns in Central Luzon, and left long-term impacts from ashfall and lahar in Pampanga and neighboring provinces.
