CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Authorities in the City of San Fernando have apprehended several individuals accused of vandalizing city government posters along Jose Abad Santos Avenue, following reports of their unauthorized removal and destruction last week.

The City of San Fernando Task Force Anti-Mendicancy said the posters were intentionally torn down by mendicants. The materials were installed as public reminders for residents and passersby to comply with the city’s Anti-Mendicancy Ordinance.

According to city officials, those involved were taken into custody by the task force. Appropriate legal cases will be filed against some of the individuals, while others will be referred to or placed under the care of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), depending on their age and personal circumstances.

The city government reiterated that local ordinances and official public advisories must be respected at all times. Officials warned that acts of vandalism and defiance of the law will not be tolerated, emphasizing that the measures are intended to maintain public order and protect the safety and welfare of the community.

Authorities also renewed their appeal to the public to comply with the Anti-Mendicancy Law and to cooperate with enforcement efforts. The Task Force Anti-Mendicancy said it remains committed to carrying out its mandate, including apprehending mendicants in public areas and ensuring that appropriate interventions and assistance are provided in accordance with the law.

The City Information Office said enforcement operations will continue as part of the city’s broader efforts to uphold public order and implement social welfare measures effectively.
