A magnitude 6.0 earthquake shook parts of Mindanao and the Visayas late Saturday night, October 11, 2025, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
The tremor occurred at 10:32 p.m., with its epicenter located 28 kilometers north 86° east of Cagwait, Surigao del Sur, at a depth of 24 kilometers.
The quake was felt at Intensity IV in Cagwait and Carmen, Surigao del Sur; Cagayan de Oro City; Davao City; and Butuan City.
It registered Intensity III in parts of Southern Leyte, Bukidnon, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental, while Intensity II shaking was experienced in areas of Leyte, Samar, Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, and Surigao del Norte.
Instrumental readings also recorded Intensity IV in Hinunangan, Southern Leyte; Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte; Nabunturan, Davao de Oro; and Tandag City, Surigao del Sur.
