A strong 7.4-magnitude earthquake rattled the southeastern region of the Philippines on October 10 at 9:43am, prompting authorities to issue a tsunami advisory for coastal areas. The tremor was felt across several provinces, with residents reporting intense shaking and precautionary evacuations in some coastal communities.

Officials from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) are assessing potential aftershocks and structural damage, while emergency teams have been placed on alert.

Tsunami alerts remain in place as monitoring continues for unusual sea level changes.
