MANILA — The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) has called on the faithful to wear white every Sunday throughout October and November as a collective act of prayer for “transparency, accountability, and good governance.”

In a circular released Saturday, the bishops also encouraged displaying white ribbons in homes, churches, and public areas. The gesture, they said, serves as a symbol of unity and hope that the nation may be “renewed in God’s mercy” and “spared from further calamities.”

The CBCP’s initiative comes amid continuing social and political challenges in the country, urging Filipinos to join in prayerful reflection and renewal.
