Pampanga, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Friday said the country’s new Farm Fresh milk facility could produce up to 32 million liters of pasteurized milk and 2.4 million liters of yogurt annually, a move he described as vital to strengthening the local dairy industry.
Marcos noted that beyond boosting production, the plant is expected to open new livelihood opportunities for farmers and agricultural workers in rural communities.
“Our dairy industry continues to face challenges — from our dependence on imports to the impact of climate change and the lack of modern facilities,” Marcos said. “This project will help ensure we can collect, process, and distribute milk more effectively while supporting Filipino farmers and veterinarians with more stable and dignified jobs.”
Farm Fresh Berhad founder and CEO Loi Tuan Ee said the Pampanga facility will create jobs not only in farming but also in manufacturing, administration, sales, marketing, and distribution.
“When you want to be inclusive, you have to give opportunities to rural communities,” Loi said. “That means providing jobs where they are often scarce.”
The plant marks the first phase of Farm Fresh’s investment in the Philippines. The company also plans to build a ₱1-billion large-scale dairy farm and processing facility, integrating milk production with manufacturing to help improve the nation’s food security and milk sufficiency levels.
