Former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Manuel Bonoan, who is currently on a lookout order, has departed for the United States, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) confirmed.

According to the BI, Bonoan’s exit was cleared by the Department of Justice (DOJ), noting that he has no hold departure order or outstanding warrant of arrest that would prevent him from leaving the country.

Bonoan resigned from his post in September following the flood control project controversy that has sparked investigations into alleged irregularities in government infrastructure spending.

Authorities have yet to confirm whether further legal action will be taken against the former secretary.
