The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has officially released the 2024 Provincial Product Accounts (PPA), detailing the economic performance of 82 provinces and 33 highly urbanized cities (HUCs) across the country. This latest release marks a major step toward the institutionalization of the PPA, beginning in 2025, after its formal approval by the PSA Board earlier this year.

According to the PSA, all provinces and cities posted economic growth in 2024, showing broad-based recovery and expansion following the previous year’s performance. Eastern Samar emerged as the fastest-growing economy, recording an impressive 10.2% growth rate, followed closely by Puerto Princesa City (9.8%), Batanes (9.57%), Dinagat Islands (9.56%), and Bataan (9.3%).
Notably, seven of the ten fastest-growing economies were provinces, while the remaining three were highly urbanized cities. Each of these top performers outpaced the national GDP growth rate of 5.7%, underscoring robust local economic activity across the country.
In terms of economic scale, Quezon City retained the largest share of the national economy, accounting for 6.0% of the 2024 GDP—equivalent to ₱1.33 trillion. It was followed by Makati City (₱1.20 trillion, 5.4%), Laguna (₱1.08 trillion, 4.9%), and Manila (₱1.04 trillion, 4.7%). The City of Davao stood out as the only economy outside Luzon to make it into the top 10 list.
Meanwhile, Pampanga secured the 9th spot nationwide, with a ₱595.36 billion local economy, highlighting its strong contribution to national output through its expanding industries, services, and manufacturing sectors.
To further promote transparency and data awareness, the PSA announced that it will hold a series of provincial dissemination forums from September 25 to October 16, 2025, in coordination with its regional and provincial offices.
Detailed reports, statistical tables, and visual data for each region will be made available on the official PSA website and respective Regional Statistical Services Office (RSSO) portals.
