CEBU CITY — The City Government of Pasig, under the leadership of Mayor Vico Sotto, has extended ₱2 million in financial assistance to the Province of Cebu to aid ongoing relief and rehabilitation operations in quake-affected communities in northern Cebu.
Representing Mayor Sotto were Councilors Mark Gil delos Santos, Noel Agustin, and Warren Inocencio, who personally handed over the donation to Governor Pamela Baricuatro during a courtesy visit to the Cebu Provincial Capitol on October 9.
Beyond the monetary aid, Pasig City also deployed a 25-member humanitarian team composed of personnel from the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), and Office of the Building Official (OBO). The delegation provided psychosocial first aid and conducted an infrastructure assessment in several northern Cebu towns over a seven-day mission.
The city likewise sent tents and emergency “Go Bags” to assist displaced residents. Each Go Bag includes essential disaster-preparedness items such as a glow stick, whistle, rechargeable hand-crank flashlight, thermal blanket, ziplock document pouch, and a disaster guide booklet featuring emergency hotlines and QR-coded instructions.

A first-aid kit containing alcohol pads, antiseptic solution, gauze, medical tape, and bandages is also included, all packed in a waterproof, floatable bag designed for both safety and durability.
Governor Baricuatro expressed gratitude to Mayor Sotto, the Pasig City Council, and the people of Pasig for their solidarity and compassion, saying the donation and assistance will make a meaningful difference in Cebu’s recovery efforts.
