SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA — The Provincial Government of Pampanga, in coordination with the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC), hosted a colorful and festive orientation for senior citizen officers across the province’s second district to mark the 2025 National Elderly Filipino Week.
Around 900 officials from various Offices of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) took part in the activity, which highlighted the province’s ongoing commitment to programs that uplift the welfare of the elderly.
Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda personally joined the event, expressing her gratitude to senior citizens for their contributions to the community and reaffirming the provincial government’s support for their well-being.
Among the topics discussed was the Expanded Centenarian Act of 2024 (Republic Act 11982), which grants monetary incentives to older Filipinos — ₱10,000 each for those aged 80, 85, 90, and 95, and ₱100,000 for centenarians.
Provincial programs such as birthday incentives, assistance packages, wellness activities, and Elderly Week celebrations continue to be implemented in local towns and cities.
The NCSC reported that more than ₱38.3 million in incentives have been distributed to 3,598 senior citizens across Pampanga under the expanded law.
