Magnitude 4.5 Earthquake Jolts Parts of Cagayan Early Saturday

The agency said no damage or aftershock is expected from the quake but advised residents to remain cautious and stay alert for official updates.

CAGAYAN, PHILIPPINES A magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck off the coast of Maconacon, Isabela early Saturday, October 11, 2025, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

The tremor occurred at 12:54 a.m. with a depth of 37 kilometers, located approximately 28 kilometers north-northeast of Maconacon, Isabela at 17.57°N, 122.42°E.

PHIVOLCS reported Intensity III shaking in Peñablanca and Tuguegarao City, both in Cagayan. Instrumental measurements also recorded Intensity III in Peñablanca.

The agency said no damage or aftershock is expected from the quake but advised residents to remain cautious and stay alert for official updates.
