The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has completed right-of-way (ROW) acquisitions in six areas between Calumpit, Bulacan, and Clark, Pampanga, moving the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) project forward.
Acting Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez said the cleared sites address long-standing land issues, allowing construction to proceed more efficiently. He also noted that the Malolos Station is nearly finished.

The ROW areas include Clark International Airport, SM Clark, and several barangays in Angeles, San Fernando, Apalit, and Calumpit. The DOTr team responsible for land acquisition has been credited for speeding up the process.
Lopez expressed confidence that all ROW requirements for the northern NSCR section will be completed by mid-2026. For the southern section, ROW acquisition for nine stations—including Biñan, Cabuyao, Sta. Rosa, EDSA, Sucat, Muntinlupa, FTI, Blumentritt, and Sta. Mesa—is targeted for completion by December 2025, along with utility relocations and work at the Banlic Depot.
The department continues to push the project forward to provide more reliable and efficient commuter transport across the region.
