MANILA, Philippines — Organizers of the Trillion Peso March are gearing up to launch weekly Friday protests beginning October 10, ramping up their campaign against corruption ahead of a nationwide rally on November 30.
According to Inquirer.net, the coordinated demonstrations will take place in schools, offices, parishes, and community spaces across the country. Activities include noise barrages, candle lighting, and protest actions in designated areas. A Mass will also be held at the EDSA Shrine, alongside similar gatherings in key city centers.
Protesters are encouraged to bring candles, placards, and noise-making tools such as whistles, horns, and pots and pans.
The Trillion Peso March is led by the Church Leaders Council for National Transformation and supported by more than 80 civic and religious groups. Organizers describe the initiative as a nationwide moral call to action against corruption.
In a Facebook post on October 7, the movement urged Filipinos to participate in daily acts of solidarity — from wearing white ribbons and displaying white flags to joining candle-lighting activities and prayer events.
The protests will culminate in a large-scale gathering on November 30, Bonifacio Day, with around 100 groups expected to take part.
