SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The City of San Fernando turned the Mini Convention of Heroes Hall into a bustling center of opportunity on October 3, 2025, as hundreds of job seekers participated in the “Fernandino, Tara Mag-Obra!” Job Fair Edition, an event aimed at linking residents to meaningful employment.
Organized by the City Public Employment Service Office (CPESO) in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Pampanga Field Office, the fair was supported by multiple government and private sector partners. The initiative underscored the city government’s commitment to strengthening local employment and empowering its workforce.
CPESO Manager Mary Ann C. Biliwang and Fernando Mallari IV, Senior Labor and Employment Officer of DOLE Pampanga, encouraged participants to stay persistent and confident in pursuing their career goals. DOLE Pampanga Chief May Lynn C. Gozun also graced the event, reaffirming the agency’s full support for San Fernando’s ongoing employment programs.
The fair gathered 3,762 job openings from 34 local companies and government agencies, attracting around 340 job seekers, 28 of whom were hired on the spot. The event also featured participation from the Social Security System (SSS), Pag-IBIG Fund, PhilHealth, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and the City Agriculture and Veterinary Office, ensuring that job seekers had access to comprehensive employment and livelihood support services.

The activity is part of Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag’s 10-point agenda, which prioritizes employment facilitation through the “Fernandino, Tara Mag-Obra!” flagship program. The initiative seeks to achieve zero unemployment by expanding job access, promoting upskilling, and empowering every Fernandino to become self-sufficient and productive.
Through the collaboration of local and national agencies, the event highlighted the city’s dedication to inclusive growth—showing that with unified effort, creating pathways to a better future for every Fernandino is truly possible.
