Students and educators can soon enjoy the highly anticipated historical biopic “Quezon” at a special discounted rate when it hits Philippine cinemas on October 15.
TBA Studios announced that tickets for “Quezon” will be available to students and teachers for only ₱250 each. To avail of the promo, moviegoers simply need to present a valid school ID at participating cinemas nationwide.
According to TBA Studios President and COO Daphne O. Chiu-Soon, the discounted ticket price aims to encourage students and teachers to experience the film where it truly belongs—on the big screen.
“The best way to watch ‘Quezon’ is in the cinema,” Chiu-Soon said. “We want audiences to see and feel the film as it was designed to be experienced—visually, emotionally, and cinematically.”
She added that “Quezon” was crafted as a full-scale cinematic experience, from its world-class production design to its stellar ensemble cast—led by Jericho Rosales as Manuel L. Quezon and Iain Glen, known for his role in Game of Thrones, as Leonard Wood.
Chiu-Soon, who also serves as one of the film’s producers, mentioned that while the studio may eventually make Quezon available for streaming, its immediate focus is on its theatrical release.
Directed by Jerrold Tarog, Quezon serves as the final installment in TBA Studios’ celebrated Bayaniverse trilogy—following the critically acclaimed hits Heneral Luna (2015) and Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral (2018).
The film explores the political journey of Manuel L. Quezon during the American occupation, highlighting his struggles, alliances, and rivalries as he campaigns for Philippine independence and the presidency in 1935.
The cast also includes Benjamin Alves as young Quezon, Mon Confiado as Emilio Aguinaldo, Arron Villaflor as Joven Hernando, and Cris Villanueva as the older Hernando. Rounding out the ensemble are Romnick Sarmenta, JC Santos, Karylle, Jake Macapagal, Bodjie Pascua, Angeli Bayani, Jojit Lorenzo, Joross Gamboa, Therese Malvar, Ana Abad Santos, Ketchup Eusebio, and Nico Locco.
While Quezon concludes the Bayaniverse trilogy, Chiu-Soon emphasized that it remains a standalone story that both new and returning audiences can appreciate.
“Quezon” opens exclusively in theaters nationwide on October 15, with an international release to follow.
